...your daughter starts crying because she wants to keep a random bird for a pet. This baby dove has hung around our house for the last few days. Bruce has taken it to a field near our home but it keeps coming back. Brooklyn loved watching it peck around our deck. An hour later we found it in our garage. Brighton made a safe spot for it until Easton could move it out to the front yard. Brighton came inside with big tears wanting to keep it! What is a mom to do?

Get a small dog named, L.A.! Pets are great for kids but it is hard to care for them when you travel and visit us.
If it stays around for hunting season, it will make a nice Sunday Dinner!
We've got 2 cats you can have for pets.

Get a cat so it can eat the bird. That is what are cat does. Mostly mice though.
keep the dang bird...outside pet. and if "something" were to happen to it, just tell the kids it flew away! :-)
This'll make you feel better. I have a friend who's little girl brought her a potato bug and named it. Said it was her "pet". I think you need to break down.:) Misery loves company.
